Shale formations are an important natural resource for West Virginia. What I love about shale is the range of colors in it! Companion Fiber's Mountain Shale colorway gets these colors, primarily black, grey and white, but also hints of brown and navy blue. This is a wonderful colorway to work up by itself, yet is also a great companion for other colorways. One of our most popular!

It is recommended that you order all you need for your project in one dye lot. It is our goal to provide consistent, repeatable colorways, but there is always an element of artistic individuality to each skein.
